Durham Technical Community College’s next President

RPA Inc. extends congratulations to Durham Technical Community College and John “J.B.” Buxton on his appointment as the College’s next President. J.B. Buxton joins Durham Tech from his service in a variety of roles: currently a Member and the Chair of the Student Learning and Achievement Committee with the North Carolina State Board of Education, Founder and Principal of Education Innovations Group, and an Adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor of Public Policy at UNC-Chapel Hill. Buxton previously served as Deputy State Superintendent of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Senior Education Advisor to North Carolina Governor Mike Easley, a White House Fellow with the Domestic Policy Council for President Clinton, Director of Policy and Research for the Public School Forum of North Carolina, and Coordinator of Special Programs for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program. Buxton holds an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
