RPA Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven A. Mauro, Ph.D., as the next President of Alfred State College. Prior to joining Alfred State College, Dr. Mauro served at Gannon University in several administrative roles. Since 2013, he has served as Dean of Health Professions and Sciences, Interim Provost, Vice President for Academic Administration, and Vice President for Strategy and Campus Operations. His innovative and entrepreneurial leadership approach in these roles has contributed to establishing additional campuses, launching independent online programming, improving retention, participating in fundraising, generating alternate revenue (including establishing a COVID surveillance lab), engaging community and corporate partners, and overseeing a multi-million dollar construction portfolio. Dr. Mauro attended the University at Buffalo (SUNY), graduating magna cum laude and earning a B.S. in Biology in 1999, and receiving his Ph.D. in 2003. Dr. Mauro was awarded a NIH Ruth Kirchstein Postdoctoral Fellowship to further his education at Cornell University.
