Jeffery R. Shy brings to the advantage of RPA Inc. clients more than four decades of service in the educational and nonprofit advancement communities. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, and holding a Master’s degree from the University of Western Sydney, Jeff’s experience includes eight years as Director of Development Services for the College of William and Mary. He went on to found Jeffery R. Shy Associates, Inc., the first firm dedicated solely to providing software for the support of advancement operations. After more than a decade of successful operation, Shy Associates merged with JSI Fundraising Systems, Inc., a leading software development firm, where Jeff served as the Chief Executive Officer, leading the organization to exponential increases in revenues, clients and staff, and conceiving and developing innovative products supporting the advancement function. Under Jeff’s management, advancement database systems have been installed at more than 2,200 institutions.
Jeff brings to RPA Inc. a detailed knowledge of development, from the technical and logistical aspects to the refined skills of major gift cultivation and solicitation. His ability to assess the culture of an institution, his insightful analysis of its needs, and his organized and thoughtful approach to development of solutions lead client projects from initiation to completion in a timely and effective manner. Jeff’s career-long dedication to the advancement of higher education offers unique and world-class expertise to institutions of all sizes. He is available to assist RPA Inc. clients with recruitment of top advancement professionals and to consult on all aspects of technological support for advancement functions.
