Patricia L. OwensSenior ConsultantPatricia received her Master’s in Library Science from Syracuse University, and prior to entering the consulting field was Interim State Librarian for the Connecticut State Library. Other assignments include serving as Director of the Division of Library Development, Acting Director, Patron Services, and Adult Services Consultant for the Connecticut State Library, and Assistant Director of the Willimantic Library Service Center. Her accomplishments include establishing the minimum standards for Connecticut Public Libraries, developing multiple successful statewide program initiatives, administering numerous state and federal awards including long-range planning grants, and administering a statewide continuing education program for public library staff. Since becoming a private consultant, Pat has served a range of clients that includes the Springfield Township Library and other small and medium-sized public libraries and library systems, the American Library Trustee Association, the State of New Mexico, and multi-state consortia. Her experience includes school, public and special library work in CT, NY and PA. Her range of skills and expertise, gained over more than 20 years as a library professional, includes strategic planning, human resources, building and needs assessments, development of innovative programming, patron services, grant development, and all aspects of traditional library management. |
